I do it. If you put it in the right moment, not always on a high string/fret, not always with a bend, it won't even sound cliche. Or you can end a song with one at band practice and make the drummer smile.

I knew a guitarist who wrote a part where he repeatedly pinch harmoniced eighth notes on one note while moving his picking hand rapidly down away from the bridge for different harmonic overtones. It was rad. I would lift the technique but I haven't had a stroke of imagination to make it anything other than a ripoff yet.
