Having it play in the background on Christmas Day (during TBS's 24-hour marathon) with my family is good enough. Some parts still make me laugh. My Mom always says that one of her friends told her I looked like Ralphie as a kid.

"Whatever happened to that album?"
"I broke it, remember? I threw it against the wall and it like, shattered."

Those that I’ve known who grew up in the 1930s swear by the authenticity of all aspects of its depiction of the homes, sets, characterizations, dialogue and frustrations of the period. A pretty sharp snapshot of its time and place for those that experienced it from the same vantage point as the characters within.

Something that should be kept in mind by those who can only view it through the eyes of the 21st century.
