So both Schenkers were in Scorpions at the start, only to see Michael defect to UFO. I'm strictly talking about the 70's work of the respective bands. Interestingly, Scorpions started as kraut rock, and UFO as space rock.

Scorpions were very inconsistent, IMO; UFO weren't necessarily better but there's more good stuff during their golden era.

I'm not even sure that UFO needs Michael to wind up taking it. Those earlier records are pretty brilliant psyche/choogle. It's like if Slade had better lead breaks.

For those interested, the 2021 vinyl remaster of Force It sounds great.

Scorps have some great stuff in the 70'. I was obsessed with the riff of he's a woman she's a man and such, but gotta go with UFO; I'm not a fan of live albums but I totally love Strangers in the night, a perfect record.

Just a quickie FYI -

A couple of times at record shows/guitar shows back in the day, bootlegs of the complete shows that they eventually narrowed down for Strangers In The Night would turn up.

I'd have to imagine some of that stuff might be out there on YouTube.
