Eggers' latest. Too much of a straight macho flick for me (which is surprising, following The Lighthouse), enjoyable enough, but my least favorite of his so far. What do you say?

A sight better than The Witch, nowhere near as good as The Lighthouse. Won't watch it again, but definitely one of the better films of its type.

I though it was irritating and ugly. Feels like a super cut of Video Game cinematic cutscenes. Looks plastic and muddled, kinda like a video game. Extremely strange pacing that made a lot of plot points seem inconsequential or unfinished. I watched it like 3 days ago and have a hard time really tracking it in my memory. I just remember a blur of angry movement with occasional stupid dialog. I hated VVitch (aside from the last 3 minutes) and didn't like the Lighthouse either. dude doesn't make shit I like.

A well made film that I just didn't like

I liked when it got "weird" and delved into fantasy but other than the technical aspects I found it hard to care about the protagonist.

I loved his previous two films but feel like he should have spent less time trying to slavishly keep things authentic (as he is known to do) and made an entertaining film.

Fun movie but definitely my least favorite of Eggers' so far. Anya Taylor-Joy's "Lady Gaga in House of Gucci" accent is very funny.
