Watched the first two episodes, and just am not feeling it; in particular, the pacing feels glacial. It does, however, feel like the first two episodes were stage-setting, and that I might be giving up just when the show is about to really get rolling.
Those who’ve watched the show: does it develop into something more once the opening formalities are out of the way?

2I haven't seen it since it first came out but, as I remember, the first few episodes were no different in pacing than the rest of the series. I like Fincher generally, and I liked the show enough to watch the whole thing, but I have to admit it was pretty pedestrian in retrospect.

3I enjoyed it. Not great but good.
It is indeed slow, but ultimately worth it.

4This is my take as well. Nothing extraordinary, but a decent show. I had read several of John Douglas and Mark Olshaker's books, so I was interested in the material.Vibracobra wrote: Wed May 17, 2023 12:19 am I enjoyed it. Not great but good.

My favorite eps were the Fincher-directed ones.

5It was OK for a cop show. Anna Torv (Wendy Carr) and Cameron Britton (Ed Kemper) were particularly memorable performances.

6Enjoyed this a lot. Second season dipped a bit, but the slow burn works for me.
If you enjoyed the film Zodiac this'll be up your alley.

7I liked Tench and his family. Ed Kemper was very memorable. Holden and his girlfriend were the dullest story. Overall a very fine show.

8I really liked it when the first two seasons aired. I've rewatched some of it and it doesn't land as well as I remembered. Essentially, my engagement in the series depends on whether I find the "serial killer of the week" interesting or not. Holt McCallany rocks in every episode though. Glad that guy finally got more recognition thanks to that role.
