It's the first one for me. The rawest sounding one, the best collection of songs. Perfect soundtrack for being bored. Be it in a huge city or a small town.
Fuck, forgot to include It's Alive. Any way to change a poll?
Re: Favorite The Ramones 70s record
2I agree with s/t for those reasons, plus I appreciate moments when a band hasn't totally figured themselves out yet. 53rd and 3rd is a great example of that. Beyond that record they got a little formulaic to me.

3Leave Home is the shit.
We're headed for social anarchy when people start pissing on bookstores.
Re: Favorite The Ramones 70s record
4This is not easy. Those first three all go by in a glorious blur.
After cheating a little and looking at the track listings, I love the quirkiness of s/t the most. A couple of examples: "Chain Saw" starts with a saw noise that isn't a chain saw, and somehow rhymes "massacre" with "away from me". "I Don't Wanna Go Down to the Base" is missing a syllable.
I feel like I should like Road to Ruin more than I do because of the better drumming, but I don't.

5All 4 are some of my favorite records but I think Road to Ruin wins for me. Has the most variance and is the best recording. Guitars sound huge.
Re: Favorite The Ramones 70s record
6Very hard to choose between the 2nd and 3rd, but my gut says Rocket To Russia.
The debut really is magic but the mix is a bit of a buzzkill for me.

Re: Favorite The Ramones 70s record
7My favourite Ramones song is "Swallow My Pride", thus my favourite LP is "Leave Home"
"More open-minded than Catholics".
Re: Favorite The Ramones 70s record
8The first one, because it was the one unquestionably better than what came before.
Re: Favorite The Ramones 70s record
9"Questioningly" is not just the best Ramones tune. It is one of the best tunes mankind has ever produced.
If you went back in time/gave that tune to Hank Willliams Sr./Told him to pretend he penned it, folks would swear up and down that it was one of his best songs.
That's before you get to "Don't Come Close"
"It's A Long Way Back" is a banger of a riff.
The "Classic Coke..." tunes hold up with anything from the other albums.
"I'm Against It" is evergreen.
So, yeah.
Road To Ruin by a good bit.

Re: Favorite The Ramones 70s record
10My proper introduction to the Ramones was through the All the Stuff (And More) CD compilations simultaneously. So all distinction between these four records was removed. I think it works well that way....63 tracks on two discs. The Ramones deliver.
