Re: Favorite Lynch movie
2Pretty tough to pick between Eraserhead, Blue Velvet, and Dr Mulholland, but I went for BV. I'd also put FWIW up there but I don't think that really works w/o the context of the series (and The Return drove that home even more).

Re: Favorite Lynch movie
3I voted for Mulholland Drive. One of the creepiest movies ever, and totally takes the mask off the seedy underbelly of Hollywood.
Re: Favorite Lynch movie
6‘Mulholland Dr.’, which I ended up seeing three times in the cinema. I haven’t seen a film of his that I didn’t like, and I’ve seen everything apart from ‘Dune’ and ‘Fire Walk With Me’. One day I’ll watch ‘Inland Empire’ again, which felt like a statement of revelation on first viewing.

Re: Favorite Lynch movie
7I have special feeling about Lost Highway....going to see that in the cinema opening night. The projectionist cranked it...the titles with the headlights on the median and the David Bowie groove. That was cool. I would tell a newcomer to start with Blue Velvet. Skip Dune, it really and truly sucks. I don't remember anything special about Elephant Man or Inland Empire. Otherwise they're all good to great. A national treasure.

8I picked Mulholland Dr., but I’m glad that this gem didn’t go unsung. It’s such a lovely and kind film, and it’s no less evocative than his other movies.losthighway wrote: Thu Jun 01, 2023 11:10 pmSomehow the only one I haven't seen. I must rectify this!
All of his movies except Dune have something to offer. Dune is just bad. Not a single good scene in it.
Favorite lines from Lost Highway:
“You like pornos, kid?”
“Pornos?”
“Do they give you a boner?”
Re: Favorite Lynch movie
10This was a tough one. I think MD was his best film, but nostalgia keeps telling me Blue Velvet. I'll appreciate his Dune in this weird, shitty-music-video way.
