If you were to throw the writers of “Under Pressure” into a thunderdome, who would win?
I need to think for a moment.
Re: Under Pressure Dome: David Bowie vs. Queen
2Are we discussing the merit of their contributions to this song? Or just comparing the two musical entities overall?
Re: Under Pressure Dome: David Bowie vs. Queen
3Bowie, no pressure whatsoever required. Some of Queen's songs are fun, but nothing I'd ever actively choose to listen to, and Under Pressure in particular is a song I hope never to hear again.

4Feel free to do both, but was intending on the latter.ChudFusk wrote: Mon Jun 19, 2023 11:33 am Are we discussing the merit of their contributions to this song? Or just comparing the two musical entities overall?
The bar I was in played the song so I figured a thunderdome might be interesting.

6OK then definitely Queen. They rocked harder, had more memorable songs, and Freddie was always human. I'm not into aliens.jfv wrote: Mon Jun 19, 2023 12:36 pmFeel free to do both, but was intending on the latter.ChudFusk wrote: Mon Jun 19, 2023 11:33 am Are we discussing the merit of their contributions to this song? Bowie's best feature was Mick Ronson.

8Funny, I think that's one of, both Queen's and Bowie's, best songs.Bluegum LaBloat wrote: Mon Jun 19, 2023 12:19 pm Bowie, no pressure whatsoever required. Without all of the folks not named "David Bowie..." who played a massive role in all of the music that he gets the credit for?
You are essentially left with the start of "Quicksand".
While I really do love that? It ain't no Queen. Not by a long shot.
Re: Under Pressure Dome: David Bowie vs. Queen
10Never mind that Queen were still at the top of their game well into the eighties while the other side of the scale is Tommy Stone.
