I'm pretty sure Blonde Redhead is gonna lead in this poll, but there's only one way to find out. I included Linda Perry and company for the sickos, for the completionists, and because despite the bad music it's an OK band name (I assume it's a reference to ethnic diversity vs. Hollywood bimbo rock). I'm actually torn between Debbie and Johnette; Ms. Harry is an indisputable icon, and her boys have a lot of classic jams, but Napolitano's warm, gritty and soulful vocals are almost diametrically opposite to the frosty smooth ice queen that is Blondie.

Give me Sonic yout...errr, I mean blonde redhead.

I don't listen to any of those anymore, but probably Redhead is what I would choose to listen to. Just heard too much Blondie over my 51 years to care to hear any more.

Blonde Redhead, especially the first three albums. Blondie never did anything for me. I don’t know much about Concrete Blonde outside of “Joey”, and that song is boring.

I still listen to Fake thru Lemons Blonde Redhead frequently, I feel like I 'get it' more now than I did then. Underrated drummer. Don't really care for the new agey albums after that.

Blondie has some ok songs but a lot more schlock. And that's about as far as I care about the blondes.

One-sentence indie rock confession: I have no idea who Blonde Redhead is.

But Blondie was one of my first favorite bands, in my very earliest youth (and I still have the “Tide is High” 45 to prove it), so I’m happy to be their first vote.

And Concrete Blonde is great. If you only know “Joey”, that’s a shame — their weirdness and eclecticism is, I think, one of the reasons they weren’t more commercially successful. (For a sample of their less-ballady side, I’ll throw out a recommendation for the live version of “God is a Bullet” from the Still in Hollywood collection.)

And I’ll check out some Blonde Redhead.
