That Seraphym record speciallly is freakin' weird sounding. Can't think of any other band like that.
NC for that alone + they have some splendid bangers on every record.
Re: Band: Star Pimp
2Oh, wild. What an obscure band to reference. (That's praise, by the way.) I remember seeing these records when they were new, maybe in the early '90s. All I can contribute is that the woman who was one of the two drummers on the first Nice Strong Arm LP (and voiced the sexy spoken part on Scratch Acid's "She Said") played drums in Star Pimp. Tempted to vote NC based on that, but I don't think I've actually heard this group...
Re: Band: Star Pimp
3That's some cool trivia. LOVE NSA, Stress city might be a Top Ten 80's record for me.
See, that's why I open these threads.
Can't talk about PRFesque music with my circle of friends/family/coworkers.

Re: Band: Star Pimp
4A great band with a really weird singular sound: that sick growling bass and the loopy sliding guitar over the top (never heard a guitar like it) and all the wailing going on with the vocals. Seraphim was so cool although their follow up on KRS I remember was not that great. Unfairly forgotten.
Re: Band: Star Pimp
5Their second LP was more normal sounding, but still had some bangers and a vg production.
