So I've just discovered Doechii. I did a search and found 3 mentions, 2 of which were in the 2022 albums worth a damn, so apparently I'm behind the curve. That's nothing new.
Up for 4 possible grammy's this year, so I guess the record company are having a push. I've much to discover yet, but this appearance on Colbert makes me wish success for all 3 people involved. I like the 90's/00's feel that's been missing from a lot of modern R&B/Rap. The minimal stuff with barely any bass and higher register percussion that's been prevalent for over a decade kinda leaves me cold.

2Just listened to her for the first time last night. I liked it! She can spit!

4I wasn't sold on her records but she's a fantastic performer and the Tiny Desk Concert was great. I feel like she's on the verge of figuring out her aesthetic. Big things imminent.
