Re: C/NC: Danny Carey
2He plays polyrhythms. I think it's the same one in every Tool song.

Re: C/NC: Danny Carey
4Not crap, but the Church Lady is a lot less funny than it seemed in the 1980s.
Re: C/NC: Danny Carey
5Not Crap, though that drunken "don't you know who I am?" rampage some years back was kinda cringe. I keep hearing that the BEAT tour was awesome, and though I'm not a Crimson fan by any stretch, I wish I had caught the Albany NY show. Tool is ehhh but they bring joy to some people I care about, and he absolutely dominates at doing his thing. Seems like a chill dude overall. I think he should start a butt rock band with Jerry Cantrell.
Re: C/NC: Danny Carey
6This is really hard. I'd never, ever listen to Tool now, but as a teenager they meant a lot to me and his drumming was a huge inspiration.
I guess almost everyone goes through a teen prog phase (and secretly harbors that band into adulthood). It's hard to deny your DNA.
I was going to write "as a drummer, NC" because of his technical ability but then I realised that's like NCing Joe Satriani for his ability to vomit scales.
So NC for teenage andyman, but I don't recommend anyone else do that and I'll assign maximum waffle factors.

Re: C/NC: Danny Carey
7He's good at the Tool thing for sure. Ever see him play other stuff though, like sitting in with the 8G band? Very stiff armed. NC but ultimately not for me.
Re: C/NC: Danny Carey
10I also wanted to see the Beat tour, although it's a shame that Bruford wasn't in. DC's name evokes an obnoxious polyrhythm under a ringing drop-D chord, but he was probably good in the KC context.
