Man, I don't think I can even decide...

I cannot vote on this. My leaning is to PIL, for Metal Box and Flowers of Romance, which are two of the best fucking things I've ever heard. The first album is very good and the Peel sessions are fucking tremendous as well. BUT they certainly went to crap pretty quickly.

Umm...Entertainment! and Solid Gold are also two of the best things I've ever heard. Songs of the Free is pretty good, the Peel sessions are rival the album versions, and the less said about Hard the better.

Damnit, I just cannot vote on this one. These are two of my favorite bands. For what it's worth, I'd probably rate the Pop Group a little higher than both of them. Probably.

it's really really really easy for me...just because i like PIL so goddamned fucking much...i mean, i like Gang of Four a lot (by coincidence i'm wearing a Gang of Four shirt this very moment) but their greatness is a bit more narrow, at least in my eyes...and PIL is just mind-blowingly great...

As much as I like PiL's debut, a lot of their stuff gives me migraine.

So I vote Gang of Four. Marxism never seemed so sexy, before or since.

That was my intention. Bwa ha ha! I have thought it over, and have decided that PiL wins by an eyelash as they have a slightly better crap to not crap ratio, and "Second Edition" is easily as great (if much, much less accessible) as "Entertainment!" and lasts 20 minutes longer.

i didn't vote because i've only heard about one song apiece, but from what i heard, gang of four's my pick.
