I feel that I should come to fiery jacks defense in his statement about posting new or easily accessibly stuff on this thread. The comments that have been posted in response to his statement have really pissed me off because the only reason he said anything was so this thread would remain open, which benefits all of us.

When someone requested Talk Talk, my first thought was that it could most likely be found in any bargain bin at any record store for a whopping $5.00. As I had stated earlier in this thread, I don't know what Steve's views on this subject are, but if he is opposed, then I am grateful to him for allowing this thread to continue. There is more chance that he will, or he'll be pressured to lock it if the stuff that is posted is on sale right now at Wal-mart. (Don Henley must die)

Much of what has been posted on this thread can be purchased on ebay for inflated amounts of cash which in turn line the pockets of their proud and greedy owners, but the artists themselves are not going to see a penny from that transaction. My theory with the albums that I have posted that are still in print and accessible, is to encourage those who have never heard them, to listen to them and hopefully get the enjoyment from them that I have.

There are many good things to be said for filesharing, I believe. Since the advent of the internet, I have spent more money on music because I have greater access to discovering new artists. One of the ways this has happened is through filesharing. Kind of a sample before you buy. If I hear a band and I like them, it does not matter to me if I have the album on mp3, if I like it, and I am going to listen to it more than once, I buy the official release. That's how I operate and that is the hope that I have for those who have discovered music that they like from this thread. My aim is NOT to encourage people to rip off artists by stealing their creations, it is to encourage more people to discover them and then to support them by buying their official releases. More exposure= larger fan base= more sales. Those who find after downloading, that they do not care for a particular artist, have not lost the artist anything because they never would have even heard them before they downloaded it, let alone purchased the album. At least they have been exposed to the music, like it or not.

My hopes are that people can understand why F. Jack voiced the concerned that he did. It was not to piss anyone off, it was simply to allow this fantastic thread to continue. That being said, can't we all get along again?

Okay so if any of you bought and enjoyed the Ennio Morricone "Crime and Dissonance" collection that was put out by Ipecac last year, I STRONGLY encourage you to check out these orginal soundtracks as this is where the tracks were culled from.

An Italian repress label put these out again a few years back and they are now out of print again which is a damn shame.
