"First" in that they predated the Sex Pistols. Also Joey was never a Republican.

The Sex Pistols did more in one album than the Ramones did in 20+ years.

Whatever. I listen to the Ramones' first album all the time. I *never* listen to Never Mind the Bollocks any more. This is a clear, key indicator of quality.

I'd rather hear the Ramones over the Pistols, but I'd rather hear P.I.L. over the Ramones.

At times I would too, but "Ramones vs. Sex Pistols And/Or PiL" is not the conversation I had in mind.

Further to 242sumner: Joey was a liberal, Johnny we know about, DeeDee I don't think even HAD political opinions, I have no idea what Tommy's views were/are, and latter-day Ramones don't count, so unless you know stuff I don't or have some other perspective you didn't explain, your description "Republican band" seems a little off.

Either way, Fly said it best, I'm gonna be listening to one album.

Are you saying the Ramones only made one good album? If so, I beg to differ. Leave Home? Rocket to Russia? C'mon, those are fantastic.
