Sometimes?

I gotta wonder if some of y'all work on being this much of a drag.

Like The Rock just eating chicken and broccoli while he's training to be Black Adam...

Just redressing the balance of the universe, lest it tilt too far towards shit.
Was the Oasis video supposed to convince me that they don't suck? I think I fell asleep.

The Slade video made me smile. I was entertained.

It's a bit grim when your Exhibit A is a shit cover of an original banger....

Mind you, could be worse. There's that breed of Oasis acolyte who insist they were some kind of magical B-side machine, then you hear them and they're all* shit too.

* Have only heard their first three albums, and B-sides to that point. If they somehow got good later then I missed it, sorry.

It's not even to say that they get from "Decent..." to "Solid.."

For what they did on those first three albums(Hell, their entire career...)?

You could just listen to Superdrag, and actually be listening to a good band.

That said, some of this just doesn't even get to "Garbage..." or whatever.

Don't folks remember Attack! Attack!?

That stuff will have you turning the house upside down looking for a copy of Definitely Maybe...

Similar phenomenon to country music... Something that's playing in the background that's not offensive to anyone, and generally "easy" to listen to, so it doesn't distract from funneling beers and packing bowls. Dave Matthews has a slight edge because it's slightly more engaging than say Mumford and Sons, though not really by much.

It's kind of like being at a party with the general public... and you have to put on music for everyone to somewhat enjoy, that also doesn't distract from them socializing with each other. The average non-musician can't handle anything classical, nor jazz, nor folk... so you just throw everything in, add in a snare drum, sax and a fiddle and you come out with.... dave matthews band. Pack the bowls!! I'm ready for another hit brah!!

Mate, the bar is where the bar is. There are worse bands than Oasis, sure, but Oasis are probably the ultimate in grating garbage bands. I'd love to defend them, being a Manchester lad and all, but no - grating garbage it is.

I agree that there are far worse bands than Oasis. I recall hearing one later-period Oasis song that wasn’t terrible, although their hits grate on me.

One thing about Oasis, however, is that they’re genuinely dumb. With The Ramones and AC/DC, you sense a secret intelligence at play. There’s nothing like that in Oasis. They really are a pair of dunderheads.

The lyrics to “Wonderwall” . . . It’s like they aimed for the most clichéd rock anthem nonsense and still missed.

I don't disagree with any of this. When you couple it with the arrogance of the Gallagher brothers claiming to be the greatest band in the world, the whole act that is Oasis just comes across to me as being ridiculous.
