Guns

An 18-year-old “man” used his guns to murder 14 kids (at least) and one teacher today in Uvalde, Texas.

Guns are evil. No waffles on this one. There is no culture of responsible gun ownership anymore. There hasn’t been for many years. There is only a culture of gun pornography and a lust for violence and carnage.

Repeal the 2nd amendment. It should be harder to get even a mere hunting rifle than it is to get a trucker’s license.

People and local police having assault rifles is total crap. There is no justification for it, and all these mass shootings are perpetrated with fucking AR-15's. Hunting rifles, shotguns, etc. are a different matter, and generally aren't toxic fetish items of the right wing nut. In Japan, there's like a six-month waiting period.

I'm not into them, but it's fun to plink targets with a .22.
We're headed for social anarchy when people start pissing on bookstores.

Total CRAP.

No one needs an assault rifle. No one.

No one needs a gun TBH, unless you hunt for FOOD, not just because you get your jollies killing things.

Possibly farmers too.

The weirdest thing ever. The "i am for guns" position on any level makes you seem like you come from a different planet.

So many people I like and admire seem to love them, but no matter what the reason it always comes across as the weirdest thing. Like we are different kinds of people biologically. Any argument.

They aren't good for us.

You fucking alien freak.

As a parent of an elementary school kid, this Texas school shooting is really upsetting, not that it shouldn’t also be upsetting to any thinking, feeling human.

I grew up in Maine in a family with an open attitude toward guns, and spent a lot of time with my dad plinking cans and sitting quietly in the woods waiting for no deer to come. On the one hand, these are fond memories, but on the other, it’s from a much different era of firearm ownership where private ownership of semiautomatic weapons - and the motivation for owning them - was a lot different.

Put me down as “crap”, although I really feel America’s gun obsession, at its core, is a symptom of our hyper-individualism and disdain and devaluation of caring for others, particularly as it applies in raising our boys.

Completely agree. I feel lucky I was raised in a family where they were a complete non-option. (though my Fox News watching parents bought some in the last decade)
