picked up two Sennheiser MD421-U5's for a reasonable-ish price. One had a typo in the listing which likely kept it from being scooped up sooner, the other had "something broken and rattling around", turned out to be the resonator which had fallen off and broken one connection of the humbucking coil. Re-soldered and re-glued it yesterday, now they both work great.

Musicians friend was blowing out Native Instruments Maschine 2 controllers for mega cheap so I bought one to play with. Never owned any sampler/Drum machine things like this so maybe it will be fun. IT was like $160 so no big loss if it sucks.

Had to get another of those plug-and-play trays.

Because of last year's campout, I bought two for my backline 4x12s. Some of you might have seen in them in Campout video footage. Anyway, someone brought a head that only worked w/ 8 ohm cabs & my cabs were hard-wired to 4 ohms as all my heads can do this w/ no issues. Anyway, that won't be a problem ever again.

Finally got around to installing them this weekend but unfortunately I think I may have damaged one of them somehow when inserting a slightly bent speaker cable into it? Or maybe it's defective from mfg which seems strange since they're simple enough but the jacks are those plastic ones. Ohms test only gave me 8 & 8 like it was being in stereo instead of 4 ohms mono...and the 16 ohms input was coming back as open. I swapped the two between cabs and behavior follows. One tray jack works perfectly, the other does not.

I was thinking about re-wiring the individual jacks w/ recovered standard input jacks but said screw it since they're not that expensive.

I scored a new "small" bass rig. I can't pick it up until Monday. I will hold off mentioning more until it is in my hot little mitts.

I also finally got one of those Deluxe Memory Man Nanos, love it. I bought one a few months back, but it got fucked up in shipping and blah,blah,blah, but now it's mine and I really dig it.

Nothing fancy. A couple of $80 demo pedals. A Nobels ODR-1 and one of those mini Cry Baby pedals, because occasionally a wah comes in handy.

Pair of Symetrix 501's. RMS level detection baby.

I actually just bought my second Symmetric 501. I'm actually covered on utility compressors, but I decided to invest in a very fancy saturation/compression box from Overstayer and the supply chain issues have had me waiting for a half year with no end in sight. The trouble is I became focused on having a grindy, stereo drum parallel thing and I will be doing more mixing in the next few months than I will probably do for the rest of the year.

So I'm going to stereo link a pair of toggle switch 501s for the purpose. My lone 501 has often served as the blowing things up box, so why not do it in stereo?

This is funny to me just because for many years my 501 was more my "clean" compressor. Been an Alesis Microlimiter fan for years for the blowing things up bit....although I do wish it were just a little bit cleaner with the noise floor is just right on that border of being too much to be usable.

501 = super versatile. I really should get a 2nd one and maybe try it as being my blowing things up box.
