Re: Is Cereal a Soup?
84Look, cereal is the dry foodstuff you put into the bowl first. Milk is milk. You are eating a bowl of cereal with milk. Milk is not the cereal. You could MAYBE argue that cereal WITH milk is a soup of sorts. But that is cereal with milk, not cereal. THEREFORE CEREAL IS NOT SOUP. If you are still arguing for cereal being soup, I have no idea what to tell you. Maybe go look up the actual definition of cereal.

85Right, the cereal is not the soup: the milk is.tommy wrote: Tue Nov 08, 2022 4:33 pm Look, cereal is the dry foodstuff you put into the bowl first. Milk is milk. Re: Is Cereal a Soup?
87This is a good point. Cereal is cereal whether or not it is in a box dry or has milk on it - BUT - if you pour milk over it it's still cereal, right? A bowl of cereal...and now it's become soup.tommy wrote: Tue Nov 08, 2022 4:33 pm Look, cereal is the dry foodstuff you put into the bowl first. Milk is milk. Therefore...
(you guessed it)
Cereal is soup.

88What if it's not in a bowl? What if you just dump cereal on the counter and then pour milk on it?Garth wrote: Tue Nov 08, 2022 5:30 pmThis is a good point. Re: Is Cereal a Soup?
89This thread's got me thinking about being able to grab a can of condensed Frankenberry off of the shelf, and throw some water in while trying to figure out if there are any episodes of Thundarr The Barbarian on YouTube.
Thinking it through?
Still feels like "Not Soup..."
(Except for when you used to screw up, and leave a bowl of Apple Raisin Crisp on a counter for too long. In that one instance? There might be something to this "Is Soup..." thing.)

Re: Is Cereal a Soup?
90IDK, I guess if you did the same with a can of Campbells, it'd still be soup, right? I don't think the container matters all that much.tallchris wrote: Tue Nov 08, 2022 5:51 pm What if it's not in a bowl? What if you just dump cereal on the counter and then pour milk on it?
