Dammit.
Still do-able.

All of the Rupert Holmes numbers that don't have anything to do creeping in the personal ads are also easy money.

Toss a dart at a list of Shaun Cassidy tunes...

Both “Gypsy” and “Rhiannon” probably get played on soft-rock radio, but my conscience won’t let me include them. It feels like cheating.

It's ok to level with yourself about that this is not only a soft rock number, but is also a heck of a tune...

^ I feel like this can be done without any massive selling singles, pretty easily.
I was thinking about the ‘Mac, though.

Oh, no question “You Make Loving Fun” qualifies, as does “Hold Me.”
Equally true is that “The Chain,” “Tusk,” and “Go Your Own Way” don’t qualify.

I will report back with a full mix tape before I go to sleep tonight.
That last post confused the shit out of me, though. I’m afraid I am going to have some trouble distinguishing what exactly qualifies as “ soft rock”.

I feel like accompanying every song on this list with an explanation, though any explanation will likely be tedious to write or read, so here goes. Feel free to dispute any tracks. I did put a few big hits on here.
Side 1:
Carole King "Spaceship Races"
Peter Gabriel "Solsbury Hill"
Bread "If"
Christopher Cross "Never Be the Same"
Doobie Brothers "Black Water"
Jim Croce "Time in a Bottle"
Side 2:
Carpenters "Superstar"
Harry Chapin "Mr. Tanner"
Supertramp "Dreamer"
Fleetwood Mac "Beautiful Child"
Elton John "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road"
Chicago "Alma Mater"
EDIT: oof, I barely made the 1970s with a few of these, but I do think all qualify. I could probably make several more tapes, easily.

Excellent work. You included many artists I would pick, but different songs.
Put in Bread "Guitar Man", Croce "I Got a Name", Cross "Sailing" add Seals and Crofts "Summer Breeze" and this is basically my yacht. Do you want salt on your glass?
