Teenage me was very excited for Bonded by Blood, I feel like there was a lot of pre-release hype for it. Teenage me was then very disappointed upon actually getting it, because that shit sucked. Baloff was a joke, I just couldn't get past those awful vocals. Think I listened to it once. Gave 'em another shot with the next record, there was one good riff on Chemi-kill and that was it. Crap.

I am a poser but you crazy. Kill 'em All is the best thrash debut, and one of the best debuts ever. Killing is my Business and Death Angel's The Ultraviolence are also light years better than any Exodus.

Saw Coroner back in the day at a small club and they were awesome, that guitar player ripped.

I've said it before on here, but I'd put that OG Megadeth lineup up against any band, any genre for originality and musicianship. Those first two records are really unique, totally bonkers riffs, and Gar and Chris really added a lot. I remember listening to KIMB when it came out and just staring at the speakers like WTF is going on? The terrible production just kinda added to the mystique.

K'eA is a very very close second but is a more inconsistent record compared to BbB. Obviously Metallica evolved into something greater by album two and Exodus simply didn't.

DA MASSIVELY overrated band, IMO. I'd put Overkill's first one up there; another album that shoulda been released much earlier but was held back by label struggles.

Overkill were one of those bands that I liked alright, but I think their peak was Years of Decay. Bobby's voice had gotten more tolerable. They have been particularly strong this century even if they keep making the same record.

The Ultraviolence is sick, but DA got progressively goofier. Mark still has a great voice.
I'd rather be throwing darts.

Rocking band! Bonded by blood was one of the very first thrash albums I heard as a kid back in 85 which I picked up on the strength of hearing them on the first Speed Kills comp(sidenote:the first 3 volumes of Speed Kills were *crucial* for introducing me to more bands than Metallica and the underground in general; if I remember correctly, they were priced like a maxi-single:https://www.discogs.com/master/856244-V ... peed-Metal ). Still love it and still think Baloff was perfect for this type of music.
Next album with the Bon Scott-soundalike on vocals was good but a bit underwhelming comparably and their songwriting already then a bit outdated with a lack of thrash/mosh breaks in the faster songs which I honestly think hurt them more than change of vocalist; even next album Fabulous Disaster was a bit too "heavy metal" in its dynamics. It was great though but arrived a bit too late since the Earache/death/grind thing had taken over in the underground amongst people my age here in sweden and Exodus had not crossed over like the Big 4 or even lames like Testament and Overkill; they were stuck in some kind of limbo...

Also Dave's vocals were about 61% unintelligible garbed growling. I remember hearing Mechanix after having listened to Horsemen a few times, same reaction as yours. I still have my OG pressing disc around somewhere; I prefer it to any remastered version hands down.
