Some people make a little foam donut to go under the knob. Might only work on strat-type knobs though, where there's a recess for the donut to fit.

The knobs on one of my guitars are very fast! I prefer them to be tighter and slower, so that I don't bump them out of place as often! Is there an easy fix for this?
Equally invasive, but various brands of pots do feel different. You could read up on preferences, though that might involve wading perilously into realms og tone nerds.Dr Tony Balls wrote: Tue Oct 31, 2023 12:01 pm There are also EVH branded high friction pots, though that's more invasive and they only come in 250K, it seems.

This is very true. Ages ago I bought some Bourns pots for an amp and they were all crazy slippy slidey low friction. CTS by comparison are much more palatable to me.VaticanShotglass wrote: Wed Nov 01, 2023 9:05 amEqually invasive, but various brands of pots do feel different. If you go this route you might need to consult the Knob Feel blog. (It's not NSFW.)VaticanShotglass wrote: Equally invasive, but various brands of pots do feel different. You could read up on preferences, though that might involve wading perilously into realms og tone nerds.
