This guy reminds me of former classmates and acquaintances who thought that jumping around and making a lot of noise was what constituted a "personality".
When I see Dane Cook "perform" I register movement and sound and that's it; maybe he's trying to distract us from his non-jokes, maybe he just wants attention.

I once saw a commerical for his standup special where he makes a joke like this...
"YOU REMEMBER THAT GAME PRESS-YOUR-LUCK?!?!? WELL WHAT IF YOU PLAYED IT WHILE A CHICK IS GOING DOWN ON YOU?!? YA KNOW, LIKE WHEN SHE'S DOWN THERE, (slapping motion towards groin) BIG MONEY NO WHAMMIES!!!!"

At first, I couldn't stand Dane Cook. A friend kept trying to get me into it, but he just wasn't funny. Last tour, we spent listening to comedy albums. Of course, Dane Cook was in there. He was kind of funny, but now he's out-gimmicked himself. Acting like a moron is funny only the first few times.

his first special is great. his cd is pretty funny too. his latest stuff is really bad, full circle had only a couple good jokes. what he has going for him is his enthusiasm, and energy he carries with him.

-grocery cart how people hate to walk away from them
-everyone has a friend they hate
-somone shit on the coats
those are all pretty hilarious skits.

Yeah, I really loved his first special, but Full Circle pretty much blows. Still, on balance NC. Ask me again after his next album.

After being subjected to this man's stand-up I simply cannot understand the appeal. If I corralled fifty kids with ADHD into a pen and took them all off of their ritalin I am certain I could find a carbon copy of this man and his comedy. Big deal.
