I know a dude who has a Ryan Adams "heartbreaker" tattoo on his person. When i was informed that it was not a Tom Petty tattoo, i resolved never to like this Ryan Adams person. The brief brushes i have had with his music have reaffirmed this decision.

Bryan Adams wins. "Summer of '69" is assuredly a better karaoke jam than anything by Mr. "Give that guy his money back and kick him out of the show for calling me Bryan wah wah wah fucking wah."

This did happen some years ago at the Barrymore in Madison. I know the guy who yelled it. It was one of the shows (of probably many) where Ryan Adams was really drunk and/or high on-stage and put on a poor performance. My friend, fed up with paying to see a drunk, yelled the offending request......he was close enough to the stage to be heard clearly. Adams went on a tear. Another guy with my friend at the concert then told Adams to "stop being such a pussy". I'm sure it's happened at other concerts of his.

I can't believe I just voted in favor of Bryan Adams, but then again I've voted in every presidential election since '88 when I opted for Michael Dukakis over G.H.W. Bush.

The first time I ever heard Ryan Adams I was watching TV and a video of some beige-ass song came on. It was him standing in front of the World Trade Center playing a guitar and making that sound he makes with his mouth. At the bottom of the screen was a Fox news style ticker scroll reading "This video was filmed before the attacks of 9-11"

NO FUCKING SHIT! That was apparent being that he wasn't standing in front of a pile of rubble and bodies.

BTW that video is proof of his involvement in some Reuben-esque plot to advance his career.

Bryan Adams is like a normal white cap douchebag with all the social and cultural references that implies. No big deal, there are at least a million of them within 20 miles of my house.

Ryan Adams makes feints toward independent culture and has insinuated himself into the upper echelon of such dilettantes. I find this considerably more tacky and unsettling than just being an ignorant douchebag.
