You guys should be paying attention to the people who have been posting about Polvo’s inconsistency live. I saw Polvo twice and this for them was a stellar show.

Now, does it even approach this? Not a chance. Even in total darkness, MBV breaks Polvo’s electric sitars over their fussy little behinds.

wow that's some exciting shit right there, look how they stand there and look like indie rockers playing boring indie rock, badly
Look at the crowd just going nuts!

Polvo may be dull but Kevin Shields is FAT!

Jonah, you have a dichotomy of sorts here.

Dudes can be as fat as they want, what do I care?
The second that chick in MBV gets fat, I'll have some concerns.

Yeah, its a good thing I never saw Polvo live, otherwise I would have probably gotten turned off.

Ash looks like hes paralyzed from the neck down, in the video for "Every Holy Shroud" everything sounds like a 1/4 step out of tune, and it generally just sounds sloppy and completely half-hearted.

I usually go see a band looking to have a good time. This shit looks like it's a real bummer in every regard, just uncomfortable and depressing.
Why would anyone stay there if they aren't having a good time? Look at the band, look at the crowd...nobody is having a good time, yet they go through the motions...the crowd stands there, stiff and the band lazily plays their boring indie rock. I bet the crowd even politely claps at the end, I didn't get that far.

I do like Polvo's music a lot. Maybe they didn't invent playing the guitar in an alternate tuning or whatever, but I think for the most part its good.

Those videos make them look like a really boring live band though. I could never imagine being in a band like that today. If I'm going to be in a band, were not going to half ass it like that. What happened to showing some emotion in your playing, and enjoying yourself? Feeling something?

I agree with Marsup, it looks like theyre just going through the motions there. So sad...

The music is subtle and quite subdued. Not every band has to be standing on their head and pissing in their own mouths. Sometimes music with a bit of nuance is suitable. If every band was AC/DC it'd get pretty old pretty quickly because life hands you complex and different situations which require a broader range of emotions.

Look at a band like The New Year. How would you play music like this while dressed as a clown and lighting yourself on fire? It's not music for that, you'd look ridiculous.
