dave from AC has a side project with one of the black dice guys called terrestrial tones. check out the album called dead drunk. more harsh and noise/loop oriented than any AC material. it's good stuff.

I would add the live album
Hollindagin to this list.
Sung Tongs and the
Prospect Hummer EP they did with Vashti Bunyan is much more pop but it's still good.
Feels is Crap pop. I heard one song from the new one it was just like
Feels.
This band belongs in the REM "much better when you couldn't hear what the singer was singing" pile.

They sound like Windy & Carl backing up Modest Mouse or Polyphonic Spree on speed.
This shit's terrible.
Oh, and what would they be without the delay pedal? I've heard three songs now (Grass, Banshee and The Purple Bottle), which all relied on the delay pedal for the "feel" of the song.
If I wanna hear a band that uses delay on every single song, I'll listen to the Chameleons UK.
CRAP!
I thought that Here Comes the Indian was really good. Its not similar to what they're doing now at all.

I very much want to like Animal Collective but I can’t help but disapprove of how often they use folk instruments percussively because they don’t have the slightest idea how to play them. If you’re gonna put a lute or accordion or gamelan bells on your record, please drop by your local banjo/hammer dulcimer emporium and pick up a song book that will teach you the rudiments of playing these things.
I much prefer the latest Panda Bear album to the majority of AC’s output.

You're Hal Leonard, aren't you?

I always thought she was Jessica Hopper.
