ONe thing I am noticing is that the anti-pot people are citing alcohol as an antidote to their weaknesses. Sad. Marijuana may make you temporarily useless, but at least that means you are okay when sober. If you need booze to not suck, then you must suck naturally.
Me, I like both, as a celebration of not sucking so much.
Either-Or: Pot or Booze?
53I like them both and each has its application. If I had to choose only one pass me the joint. Especially if you are going to do something daily herb is the only way to go. Alcoholics are as unstable and untrustworthy as any powder drug junkie, but society lets it by with a wink and a nudge.

54Consider how one obtains weed in the first place: You call your dealer and use some stupid code words over the phone because you really think the feds are listening in on your shady deal. Maybe you consider this dealer to be your friend but the truth is that you're just using them. Mostly you have no clue where the weed comes from, and probably some thugs caused a couple deaths for it. It's gotten to the point now where it's in the same category as cocaine, and green does not deserve to be on the same level as sleazy coke. Smoke your own home-grown, that way you can take the responsibility.

55When i smoked pot on a regular basis (i.e. 3 times a day).
I would have said pot.
Now that i am a raging alcoholic,i would have to go with pot.

56I traded pot for hard liquor a few months back. I don't regret it. Except for the lung issues that come with smoking anything, I feel healthier all around, sleep better, eat better, and am generally happier all around. I don't wake up feeling like I got hit by a truck, or having to flee to the toilet to puke anything up. I'm losing weight because I'm not drinking so many calories, and I just don't crave alcohol anymore. It's amazing the difference in the quality of life I have. It's also been a lot cheaper.
Basically, I don't feel like miserable depressed pile of crap anymore, and I'm not broke all the time. Fuck alcohol. Pot may lose it's novelty with me, eventually, but there's no way in hell I'm going back to abusing alcohol.
It would be hard to live without a beer or a glass of wine every now and then.

Potheads like me will say "no one's died from pot" because it's basically impossible to take lethal overdose of THC. The gang violence, and pretty much every other downside to pot besides lung damage and minor temporary mental effects, is there because of the consequences of this idiotic prohibition, which was started for bullshit racist political reasons in the 30's, and then reinforced ever since for political reason completely unrelated to the actual benefits or negative consequences of using the drug.
In my experience, it is much harder to hold down a job abusing alcohol. I've never had to call in sick the next day because I smoked too much pot. In fact, it's much easier to get up in the morning and go to work after a good nights sleep that wasn't disrupted by alcohol.

59If I didn't have problems with either of them, I'd pick Pot.

Ambiguous and/or misspoken like a true pothead. Salut!
