This is interesting. I'd be more likely to wear a Marvin Hagler WAR hat and wonder why no women appreciate it or get the reference.
Trivia corner: I have worn that very hat.

The actual one on Marvin’s head or a lovely replica?
That’s very cool regardless.

As a fashion accessory, crap. As a tool to keep cool, the sun out of your vision, and/or prevent sunburn, huge not crap.

I have an enormous head, like size 8 1/2 UK. We’re talking XXXXL here, real specialist retailer territory. As such, hats aren’t even something I can really try on in shops because each and every one just sits on top of my head. I have a nice beanie that I found in a charity shop, which perfectly performs the function of keeping my head warm on a cold day. I will say with certainty that a hat of this type does more heavy lifting per inch of material in terms of keeping warm than any other item of clothing, so hats have this in their favour. As a whole though, on account of every single other type of hat being too small, fuck hats.
Crap, WF warmth of beanies.

I own many hats. Most of them are baseball caps/mesh trucker caps or knit beanie caps. Also includedseveral winter hats with visor brims and ear flaps, a big furry winter hat for very cold days, a cheap straw cowboy hat that’s been stepped on and crushed too many times, and a suede hat with a floppy brim I got at some hippie store 30 years ago. All of these are utilitarian for keeping my head warm or cool and/or keeping the sun or rain out of my eyes and off my face. Some are fashionable and some are not and I’m beyond the age where I care about that as long as I’m comfortable.
I do own 2 or 3 hats that are more for fashion than utility but I don’t have many events or excuses to wear them, but when those times coke around I look smooth as fuck.
Hats are not crap.

Marvelous was my childhood hero, and remains the only person I have been starstruck in the presence of. A friend of my dad's was a reasonably well-made European boxing promoter, and invited me to a dinner where Marvelous was the guest of honour. Little did I know that a personal introduction had been arranged - Marvelous tapping me on the shoulder and addressing me by name.
My legs completely went (thankfully, I was seated post-dinner), and to top it all off Marvelous popped something on my head as he said his hellos. It was only when I removed it that I saw it was The Hat.

I have a mad bomber hat (cap, I suppose)
Those! I love those. If I ever get back to living in the cold lands, that’s how I’ll go.
Now, I’m no Okie, nor am I from Muskogee, but I wish I had the clothes to just dress like men from the dust bowl. I like fabrics. Just google “dust bowl mens clothes.” Would absolutely hate if that became some hipster trend.
Makes me think of my grandad on the farm.

NC.
I primarily sport a tuque or one of my two Tigers caps.
I also have a nice Goorin Bros. porkpie but it matches with so little in my wardrobe.
