Out of the three, I like Thurston's vocal style the best. Lee's good, but Kim's lyrics and delivery can sometimes be too much. Although she can set the mood a lot of the time.

Ugh, I love Sonic Youth, but I think all the singing is dreadfull. I voted Kim, because she's the cutest.

I voted for Kim, though I don't like all the talking poetry stuff. Her voice is the most striking. I like Thurston's voice fine. A Lee Renaldo song can bring a SY record to a grinding halt.
That said, I'm much more interested in the music than the singing.

I've never thought anybody in this band was an especially interesting singer. Great music, sorta boring vocal delivery that has this hipster NYC thing going on that rubs me the wrong way.
I went with Lee for his delivery of the line "Very I'm in a band, with kneepads"

I hate Kim's voice 75% of the time, and Lee's is fine but he doesn't have a great range. Thurston for me.
Though I have to defend the lyrics to Eric's Trip - I think they're pretty hilarious, especially the "she thinks she can talk to the spirits" part. I don't know if that's intentional, but I like them a lot regardless.

I like all their voices about the same.
My favorite songs on the records are usually the one or two Lee songs.
I can't say there's a Sonic Youth record that I dislike, all I can do is pick a least favorite. NYC G & F.
