Seems to me Eilish is gonna get spit out by the music/fashion/whatever media as soon as she can no longer be exploited. I'm not sure what anyone sees in her except that it's "music for girls." It's not edgy or threatening in the least, though people seem to think it is, the press certainly describes it as such. I get the feeling she's the music/media industry's current version of Alanis Morrissette. Her songs are boring.
Lorde is more universal in both her appeal musically, and wrt subject matter, and seems to me much less wrapped up in her own "identity." She is also way less marketable.
They were about the same age when they got popular.
Pure Heroine came out when Lorde was 17 I think.
