Same with my dad and the 11teen billion cancers he’s had. Some things worked, some didn’t, some had horrible side effects….even one of his surgeries that was supposed to be as routine as the sunrise would fuck him up. The chemo that they thought might not work would be great.

People expect one final answer immediately. A magic pill and a perfect answer on the spot. They don’t like to hear about evidence evolution, or understanding new things over time. Often it’s easier to point back to something an official said that was an earnest answer based on the evidence at the time and play “gotcha!” using new information that wasn’t available at the time of the original answer/opinion. It’s fucking tiresome and lazy.

So, yeah. Super easy to criticize the med community from afar. Fauci becoming the punching bag was a predictable outcome, but unfortunate. We should all probably be marveling at the rate of vaccine development and the success, instead we have people in the streets yelling at kids in high school. :sigh:
^This 100%.

Imagine being on camera during a major crisis, and managing to not lose your shit when the president of the US suggests that people ingest bleach.

I’ve heard multiple unvaxxed patients tell me with complete conviction that the “Fauci vaccine” kills people. Hard to imagine that this is where we are

look i am not saying these people are dumber than me.
i'm just saying I know when to keep my mouth shut.

i am not saying ALL propaganda is malicious.
i'm just saying it's not science.

when people criticize fauci for misinformation it's hard to argue. when people turn off cable news and do their own research, i say maybe you should. there's a lot to learn!

i know they've probably walked back everything since then. don't bother. the point is they'll just do it again unless we call them out.

Yes.

Just in case anyone missed this at the top of the page - emphasis mine. This is 100% the correct answer. Repeat it to yourself at night.

There are those that nitpick at something they don't really understand in order to feel intellectually superior. Like they're playing some online cat & mouse game and they're fucking Pierrot or something. Tiresome, and a distraction from what's genuinely important dialog.

yeah everyone listen here. it's important not to undermine our leaders. there's so much important dialog going on.
fuck that. what new info? there is no new info since that video. they made a lot of assumptions that turned out to be false. and when people tried to tell them that would happen, guess who got silenced? not these virtuous public health officials. oh no! they were just doing the best they could.
no no no. it was propaganda. it was a campaign. you know it. i know it. sorry it didn't work. best intentions be damned.
