You can judge its quality by appearance, for one: a green banana peel means the fruit isn’t ready to eat, a brown banana peel means the fruit will be sickly sweet and mushy, and bruises on the peel mean bruises on the fruit. Frozen banana run through a juicer or food processor tastes like frozen whipped cream. And those sickly sweet brown bananas still can be frozen and used in smoothies.

However, a banana never tastes better than pretty good.

Based on peaks and not averages, oranges, grapefruit, blueberries, and strawberries all have a claim for the title of best fruit. Kiwi and pineapple are up there.

Agree that dried mango rules.

It’s possible—possible!—that peach cobbler and peach pie are the best uses of whole fruit in a dessert.

Not a huge fan of cherries. As for plums, get the fuck out of here with that nonsense. Gross.
You said what I was thinking, but smarter.

Also, where's cherry? Isn't that one of the most well known and loved fruits?

Cherry would fall under The Other category along with Apricot, Persimmon, Kiwi, Papaya, Dates and any number of other delicious fruits.
According to that Wiki link, bananas are berries.
I just thought berry is too broad. Strawberries and currants are nothing alike. Same with raspberries and grapes. And so on.

First place for eating straight: apples
Second place for eating straight: melons (all of them)
For pie: peach
For wine: grapes
For cider and brandy: pears
For beer (lambic or Belgian ale): cherries
In cans/jars: peaches
For jam/jelly: some kind of raspy berry, doesn't really matter which
Fuck a banana.

Berries are fine, and presented with them I will eat them, but I could live without them.

Look buddy, I get 10 poll options and no more, compromises have to be made along the way.

That's true. I forgot about the ten options rule when making polls.
That would make it even harder. I can't pick now, with "only" ten fruits.

I voted apple, I eat one most days.

Not a fan of melon, including watermelon.

Grape has no votes yet! Where are the wine aficionados? And, you can freeze seedless grapes and they're great to eat as a snack on a hot day.
