4First ones that come to mind are Pavement's "Fillmore Jive". Also "Pueblo". That era of Pavement had quite a few of those quiet-to-excessively-loud-and-frantically-noisy songs.

9I think of 'soaring' as sort of the apex to the crescendo moment, and can't think of a more textbook example than the finale of the "Marquee Moon" guitar solo.
