No one dislikes either, let’s just all be honest with ourselves for once, but which is a more effective delivery medium for flavour? Which has the more intrinsically satisfying flavour? Ability to dip should of course be factored in, but it’s not the be all and end all.

Corn/tortilla chips & salsa is my absolute 100% favorite snack. Sometimes meal.

I like potato chips just fine, but corn/tortilla chip is a clear winner for me.

EDIT (for clarity): above assumes we’re talking about the American definition of “chip”.

Depends on the flavor. Bar-b- que tortilla sounds nasty, and guacamole and potato is also ill matched.

I think all chip/crisp flavors should be available in a corn tortilla format, and that Doritos should not have a monopoly on this.

Tortilla chip as Salsa is king, but potato chips and french onion dip gave me pause.

Tortilla chips by a mile. Honestly I'd rank pita chips above potato.

Doritos are fine, but Paqui (https://paqui.com/) does flavored chips much better IMO.

I don’t consider Doritos a monopoly by any means.

I mean as far as having a ton of different flavors. Paqui is just 5 types of hot plus one cheese.

Tortilla chips are fine, but I can’t have potato chips in the house. I will eat them until I am full of shame. It’s by far my biggest food weakness.

There are, like, four flavors of Kettle Chips alone that I’d take over any Dorito.

WF: corn chips + guacamole is a better combo than any potato chip + any dip.

To hell with Doritos. Every major city has some version of locally made chips (good enough already), but then offer varieties with smoky/tangy seasonings. We call them 'crack chips'. Chips near the bottom of the bag will be coated by a disturbing amount of seasoning, they don't even need dip (though I'll never turn down guacamole).

Recently had some tortilla chips that were only seasoned with celery salt, which were pretty goddamn great.
