I finally heard a whole Interpol album last week. These things struck me:
Those parts not lifted whole from Television and Echo and the Bunnymen sounded spookily like Slovenly or My Dad is Dead. I have never encountered a band who were directly "influenced" by either, so I will assume they are unintentionally similar.
Still spooky.

The most entertaining aspect of a live Interpol performance is their bassist's striking similarity to actor Crispin Glover as George McFly in Back to the Future.

To be honest, the Ian Curtis voicing thing really really really bothers me. It's not like he took some of Ian's inflection and made his own style...he LITERALLY sounds JUST LIKE Ian Curtis. It's sad.

Well, he's technically a better singer than IC. Then again, Stevie Ray Vaughn is technically a better guitar player than Elmore James...
