Band: Bill Haley & the Comets

http://www.rockabilly.net/articles/comets.jpg I see a lot of critics write about how Bill Haley stole his entire style from blues players. If you want to go that route, I'd say all of rock and roll is inextricably based off of blues music and that blaming Haley for it is the pioneer getting the arr...

Band: 100 Flowers

Great band. Like Mackro, I also think their discography CD is better than the Urinals CD, though both have a ton of good songs.

I also liked Kjehl Johansen's work in Trotsky Icepick. He put out some solo records too, though I never heard any of them.

" Comedian" : Neil Hamburger

do you know if future neilcons will be in mesa as well? is that mesa arizona? Neil Hamburger's manager (I think it was his manager? It was definitely the guy who directed the Left for Dead in Malaysia DVD) told me that Mesa, Arizona was pretty much Neil's home away from home. I'm not sure if future...

?

I meant to say his stand-up routine was great as always. Sorry about that.

Though I do hope future NeilCon conventions continue on the greatness established by the first one.

" Comedian" : Neil Hamburger

He held the first annual NeilCon convention in Mesa last September and was great, as always. The funniest thing was his merchandising stand, which included old Leonard Nimoy and Lt. Uhura cassettes along with his regular 7-inches. Plus he gave me a free signed 7-11 umbrella because I was the first o...

band: Skin Yard

Underrated band. Not spectacular, but very solid. Inside the Eye is a personal favorite. This record store I used to live near had their entire CD catalogue, twice over, in the 92 cent bin. It was kind of sad, but that's the way it goes, I guess. One of those bands that was there in the beginning bu...

Band: Hissanol

I want to know more about the band that Andy and John Wright had in the early 80s that connects the really early NoMeansNo bedroom stuff like Mama and "Here Come The Wormies" and what not to the more aggressive You Kill Me and Sex Mad , which kickstarted the era of NoMeansNo we all know and love. W...

Band: Hissanol

Hissanol was great. But I like everything Nomeansno related, so that probably helps. It's more weird than rocking, but that's not a bad thing. Andy Kerr is a terrific guitarist.

Both Hissanol albums appear to still in-print from A.T.'s website as of today.
