I'm not a fan of pot either, but this is different. Definitely helps with joint pain and soreness and is very unlikely to make you anxious the way pot does. ymmv, obviously, but everyone I know swears by it and my extremely limited experience with it (back pain) has been positive. I'd say it's worth...

I use an Anker 2nd Gen Astro Pro for running camera gear. Has the right kind of jack, can be set to 9v, puts out 20000mAh... I can get 8 hours out of it with a camera and sometimes monitor or gimble. $60 if I remember correctly. Seems like there's got to be an off the shelf solution to this problem.
