i didn’t go to it but i’d have to think that the all time greatest new year’s eve concert would have been december 31st, 1999 at whatever club/arena prince was playing. he wrote a song predicting how great it was years in advance of the actual event.

even though steve albini has a lot of fame from being a musician, he’s probably best known as being the producer of some legendary albums. nirvana’s “in utero” and jimmy page/robert plant’s “no quarter” just to name a couple.

also, he might have produced the zwan record too but i’m not sure.

steve albini also plays in a band called shellac and reunited his former band, the big black, recently.

i thought the drummer of steve’s band was very reminiscent of blackie onassis (urge overkill) in his prime.
