i have a metal band coming over to my small time home studio. they have to use my drum set, which is terrible but gets the job done with a little eq. i have been fooling around wit my loose floppy bass drum with pillows and all types of things. i am tying to get it to sound like that metal bass drum...

if you are starting a home studio, i suggest going digital. even though it will not give you that "warm" sound or wht ever anyone wants to say, it is a lot cheeper and still great. outboard...with digital recording, you can use out board gear, and/or plugins. plugins save space and usually money. pl...
