I have a few Mode Records contemporary classical 24 bit DVD Audio format discs - I'm looking to buy a higher quality player that can handle that and other more common formats (CD, SACD, CDR, etc) Anyone have insight? Looking to spend maybe $300-400.

I enjoyed Suspiria, Mandy, and Mid 90s recently. Varying degrees of hilarity and heaviness in each.

I've heard the difference between Royer's two ribbon mics (R-101 and R-121) in low-end response, but does anyone have experience with the new R-10? Why did they discontinue the R-101? I thought it was a solid and versatile mic for the $$

I was recording a drummer who smacked my M201. It still works, seemingly fine, but the very top of the mic (mesh wire and foam strip underneath) was damaged beyond repair, by me at least. Thinking of taking the plunge for a Universal Audio Apollo 8 thunderbolt...anyone using either the DUO or QUAD? I'd be really interested to hear folks' opinions that aren't trying to sell me something.

One channel of my Sytek MPX-4Aii drops actual signal drastically when increasing the gain knob at certain points. Fairly certain It's not a dirty pot. Any idea what might be causing this and what can be done to fix it? The problem channel is a standard op amp rather than Burr Brown.
