go for a nice proco rat, big muff pi, or mxr blue box(balls). the only negative thing i have to say about the blue box is that the sound never sustains it just fades out so its a little annoying.

if you plug a mic directly into a ProCo rat, you can get a pretty good sounding distortion quality. its sufficient.

even tho im not into bass as much as i used to, i fucking want that fucking rock bass!!!
