Push/Pull DPDT on the volume would be a nice option, though I'm lazy and only ever really have one tone. If I do like the results I'll probably just leave it hardwired in series!

Yeah, the EA pack is not exactly the 'newest version' but an add-on. I haven't had the pleasure of hearing those samples yet. But even with the 'standard' drum kits I was blown away. Very natural and (to my non-golden-ears) well recorded samples, with a lot of velocity layers - 96, I think.

Probably 4 Ohm, but check out http://www.ampwares.com/ffg/ for a load of info on your exact amp. I doubt there is any difference between the speaker / extension speaker outputs (i.e. they are connected to each other) but if you find the appropriate schematic via the above site you can confirm that.
