Series wiring on Jazz basses

Thanks for the feedback - sounds like it's a worthwhile mod to try out. No harm done if I don't like it... Push/Pull DPDT on the volume would be a nice option, though I'm lazy and only ever really have one tone. If I do like the results I'll probably just leave it hardwired in series! Thanks again.

Series wiring on Jazz basses

Played a (borrowed) 1986 Japanese Precision at the weekend. Great action and nice and light too, but my biggest reason for loving it was the tone. Punchy, slightly clanky, edgy - great for rock when a touch overdriven. In comparison, my Jazz is too smooth and rounded for what I play. Even on full br...

programming drums for rock-etc

i've got the ea pack and it's stellar. takes up a huge amount of space though -- 55gb for the largest amount of velocity levels. Cool. Will have to listen to the demo on FXpansion's site for these. I've never struggled with regular cymbals, but 'moving' hi-hats are a nightmare. I know some people o...

Yeah, the EA pack is not exactly the 'newest version' but an add-on. I haven't had the pleasure of hearing those samples yet. But even with the 'standard' drum kits I was blown away. Very natural and (to my non-golden-ears) well recorded samples, with a lot of velocity layers - 96, I think. You also...

Result - unattractive bloating, precious drinking seconds wasted pissing it out again: Crap. For attempting to screw 700 years of Czech brewing tradition over a trademark: Crap. Cr...

Your favorite planeride

This topic is only slightly more interesting than the 'Favourite Soldering Irons?' thread, but I always feel very safe in the 777. Not a single person killed or a hull loss - OK, it's newer than most but still... Not strictly an 'airplane', but took a single (solo) paraglider flight once. Twenty min...

programming drums for rock-etc

Not quite the same scenario (I was triggering from an electronic kit vs programming) but I guess still relevant - just finished a track using FXpansion's "BFD". The sounds are pretty stunning, recorded from a real kit. This is no help whatsoever if you're talking about a set-up without a c...
