I've posted recently about reel to reel repair shops in Chicagoland. I've got a tascam ATR-60 that weights 200 lbs in the cart. Ideally, I'd rather not pull it out...

I need it overhauled. Plan on doing subsequent calibrations myself, but the deck is new to me, so I want a pro to come out and ...

I've got a Tascam ART-60/8. It at least needs to be calibrated and aligned.

Can you recommend someone who makes house calls to the Chicago burbs?

If you're happy with the sound of your mix, stay digital. If you want to add the character of tape to the mix, try the dump to your 2 track.

I know that if I mix down to master tape, I will be able to have that physical media that I can store away, and will have forever

Don't go to analog ...

Is Deltronics the place to take an open reel deck for alignment, etc?
Is there a better place in Chicago/burbs?
