Easy NC. Took me a while to get into him, but it was worth the wait. Arguably the single best lyricist in rock, folk and probably even popular music in general. Highway 61 Revisited and The Basement Tapes are my favs.

Very good for what they are. I've played through my fair share of Peavey gear, and it's all done the job well enough. Our guitarist still uses my old Classic 50 that I sold to him years ago. For the usual asking prices, you generally can't go wrong.

I saw them open for Deerhoof in Kzoo a few years ago. I don't recall them having very good sound, but I remember enjoying their performance nonetheless (and their gear - something sweet about an SG into an old Twin). I still haven't checked out their studio stuff. Maybe I should do that.

How about XTC's Dave Gregory? I'd classify him as another "deceptively good" guitarist.
