Funny thing is, since i've posted this thread, i got a Marshall tube head... And just right now it started to sound reaaally thin with a big pink noise type noise floor going on... Probably the power amp tubes dying or something.... and instead of using a boost pedal into it and becoming a rock star...

Wasn't there a famous trumpeter who had a chunk of lip skin stuck into his trumpet, thus giving it a special sound ?

I don't know. I'm not exactly trying to copy the sound, i'm just curious to learn about asymmetrical distortion, how it can be achieved, if it's just the sound of all tube amps or not, if the missing tubes are creating the asymmetrical property or not...

Indeed, if i use a lowpass filter, the phase is staying positive up to 300hz. Above it starts moving below zero.Thank you Steve. The drums sound amazing and this video is priceless.
