I just finished the audio-book version last week. There's something about hearing that sordid tale in his own grizzled voice. I'd say it's the way to go with this one.
Here's another one who couldn't get past the vocals. I found some of the music interesting, but the voice was just painful to my ears. In later years when I saw live clips on YouTube his voice was even more painful to listen to.
