I am noticing that after rewinding the tape back to where I zeroed the counter (beginning of the song) a few times it's not in the same place as it was when I set it. It seems to get worse the more I work. Could this be the counter roller wearing out? Would replacing the rubber roller solve this?

I'm having trouble with my RE20. When used on a bass cab it's completely distorted. When I talk into it it seems fine. The problem is somewhat intermittent however. Once I set it up on a bass cab and it seemed fine. Next time distorted. Is this the infamous foam problem?

I am a bit confused about something in the manual. 1) Reproduce level Adjustment: Connect multimeter to output. Manual states play MRL for level. Adjust pot on card for Ref level 4dBm 1.23V.
