Definitely not crap. Dude plays bass with a fury I haven't seen in most 'rock' shows, much less the standard shoegazing-at-best laptoptronica. Plus he's starting to show off his acoustic drum skills now too, there's a lot more than meets the eye to Tom Jenkinson.
