I second the Windmill in Brixton - it's good. I'll be playing a wee gig in Luminaire in Kilburn soon and people keep telling me it's one of the best places in London to play. Worth a visit I'd say. Brighton's not far from London and has good bands. I'd recommend listening to/contacting I'm Being Goo...
