i have been using nichicon VR series from digikey for recapping tube electrolytics.

i just leave the big can style caps intact and install the much smaller new caps in the chassis. I have been using C Clips from home depot to hold them in place.

1) Can I adjust this myself? Which way should I be turning the adjuster? 2) Why does this happen? It's been sitting in the case with strings on (yeah, I know) for about a year in a room with some temperature swings - not wild wild swings, but swings. Is that it? Humidity? Or can this sort of thing ...

did you play around with swapping opamps at all in the circuit? only swap I have done was a 4558 in a tube screamer, did make a noticeable difference but it still sounded like a tube screamer.

bringing back an old thread... i just opened up my ts50b for a recap (replaced all the electrolytics, bumped the 4.7uf signal path caps up to 10uf panasonic FC's because that was the closest thing I had on hand) after the recap it still sounds great, a tiny bit clearer in a good way. not sure if any...
